RE: YOUR THREATENED ACTION AND VIDEO RELEASE — RESPONSE TO PUBLICATION ON UMUIHUOCHA-OBOHIA.NG

Dear Mr. Uchechukwu Wisdom,

We acknowledge receipt of your public statement threatening retaliatory action against the article published on umuihuocha-obohia.ng regarding the ongoing traditional leadership matter in our community. In response, we wish to clarify and affirm the truth in the spirit of due process, law, and community ethics.

1. Legal and Customary Facts Overrule Sentimental Narratives

The publication you refer to rests on verifiable constitutional mandates and public records. Your threat to release a video showing Dr. Paul Obasi in what you describe as an “endorsement” of Mr. Greatman Ugwuadi is, at best, a diversionary tactic. It is common knowledge that:

  • Mr. Greatman Ugwuadi had not spoken to Dr. Obasi since January when he returned and declared interest in the stool.
  • Mr. Ugwuadi had in fact accused Dr. Obasi of engineering the denial of his certificate of recognition and staff of office.
  • Several respected stakeholders of Umuihuocha have openly confessed, via community platforms, how they raised funds for a mission to Owerri to notify the State Government of Greatman’s non-residency and non-compliance with constitutional criteria.

2. Deceptive Narratives Around a Burial Are Disrespectful

It is ethically and spiritually troubling that a solemn family occasion — the burial of Dr. Paul Obasi’s immediate elder brother — is now being misrepresented as an endorsement ceremony. The photo in question was taken during the reception in Nze Na Ozo Vitus Obasi’s sitting room immediately following his burial. At most, it symbolized a community reunion and reconciliation gesture.

To surreptitiously reframe it as an Ezeship endorsement is both cynical and misleading. A legitimate Eze-elect cannot endorse a disqualified aspirant who failed every constitutional test and had not even been in communication with him.

3. The State Government Has Spoken

The Executive Governor of Imo State declined Greatman Ugwuadi’s application due to lack of due process. Your principal’s disqualification is a matter of legal record. No video — however staged — overrides:

  • Article 2c(v): which establishes the rotation system among villages.
  • Article 5d and 5f: requiring residence in Nigeria and non-public service status.
  • Articles 7d–g: which vests sole authority in the UDU to present a candidate.
  • Sections 8 and 12 of the Imo State Traditional Rulers Law, affirming the UDU’s exclusive legitimacy to conduct and endorse Ezeship processes.

4. Misuse of Office and Media Threats Undermine Civil Order

We urge you, as an aide in the LGA system, to maintain neutrality and professional restraint. Allow the law to guide outcomes. Online bullying, threats, or deceptive narratives will only draw further scrutiny. A man working full-time chasing thieves and drug peddlers on the streets of New York cannot simultaneously be the spiritual and physical custodian of Umuihuocha.

5. We Will Not Remove the Article

The publication in question reflects truth, legal standing, and the voice of Umuihuocha. If you or your principal believe you have a case, we recommend the judicial route. Resorting to threats and staged media stunts will neither erase the truth nor compel us to retreat.

We remain open to reconciliation and peace — but not at the expense of justice, truth, or community dignity.

Sincerely,

Voice of Umuihuocha
